How to convert JFIF to PDF
If you have ever saved a picture from the web on Windows and found a strange .jfif file instead of a .jpg, you are not alone. JFIF is just the original name of the JPEG format, but many upload forms, apps and printers do not recognize the extension. JFIF to PDF turns those images into a PDF in one step: add one or many JFIF files, put them in order, choose the page size and download a single PDF. Because JFIF is JPEG, the images are placed in the PDF without being compressed again, so you keep the full original quality. It is free and runs in your browser.
How to convert JFIF to PDF
- Add your JFIF files. Drop them on the page or click to choose them. .jfif, .jpe, .jpg and .jpeg all work.
- Put them in order. Drag the thumbnails; each image becomes one page.
- Choose the page size. Fit matches each photo, or pick A4 or Letter for printing.
- Set a margin if you want white space around the image.
- Convert and download your PDF.
JFIF, JPG and JPEG: what is the difference?
| Extension | What it is | Opens in |
|---|---|---|
| .jpg / .jpeg | JPEG image | Almost every app |
| .jfif | The same JPEG image with the format's original name | Browsers, Windows Photos, fewer upload forms |
| .jpe | Another old JPEG extension | Few apps |
| Document that can hold many images | Every device, every upload form |
When to turn JFIF into PDF
- Upload forms for jobs, visas, schools and banks that only accept PDF.
- Several photos of one document, like the pages of a receipt or an ID front and back, that should travel as one file.
- Printing on A4 or Letter with even margins.
- Email, where one PDF is tidier than a pile of image attachments.
Tips
- File too big for a form? Run the result through Compress PDF.
- Mixing formats? Images to PDF accepts PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP together with JPG, and JPG to PDF covers regular JPG files.
- Scanning paper? Scan to PDF straightens and cleans phone photos of documents.
- Need images back out? PDF to Images exports every page as a picture.
How to stop Windows saving JFIF files
Windows saves some downloaded pictures as .jfif because of a file type setting. The quick fix for a single file is to rename it from .jfif to .jpg, which changes nothing inside the image. For many files, or when you need a PDF anyway, converting them here is faster and keeps everything in one document.
Private by design
Photos of IDs, receipts and personal documents should not be sent to unknown servers. WoowPDF builds the PDF with JavaScript on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, stored or watermarked, and no account is needed.

Frequently asked questions
What is a JFIF file?
JFIF (JPEG File Interchange Format) is simply a JPEG image with a different file extension. Windows and some browsers save images downloaded from the web as .jfif, which is why many people suddenly end up with JFIF files that some apps refuse to open.
Does converting JFIF to PDF lose quality?
No. Because JFIF is JPEG, the image data is embedded in the PDF exactly as it is, without being compressed again. The PDF looks identical to the original photo.
Can I combine several JFIF files into one PDF?
Yes. Add all the files, drag them into the order you want, and they become the pages of a single PDF.
Why does Windows save images as JFIF?
A Windows registry setting maps the JPEG type to the .jfif extension, so pictures saved from some browsers get that ending. You can still convert them here, or rename a JFIF file to .jpg to open it in other apps.
Which page size should I use?
Fit to image keeps each page exactly the size of its photo, which is best for sharing on screen. Choose A4 or Letter with a margin when the PDF will be printed or attached to a form.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, so the photos stay on your device.
