How to convert PDF to Excel

1. Drop a PDF on the page or click to select it.
2. Choose the layout: keep One sheet per page switched on to get a separate worksheet for every page, or switch it off to stack all pages in a single sheet (a blank row separates each page).

How the table detection works

A PDF has no real cells; it only knows where each piece of text is drawn. The converter reads that position information, groups text that sits on the same line into a row, and starts a new column wherever there is a clear horizontal gap between two pieces of text. Cells that contain only a number, including numbers written with thousand separators like 1,250.75, are saved as numeric values so formulas work immediately. Everything else is kept as text.

This approach works best on clean, digitally created tables with consistent columns. Merged headers, cells that wrap over several lines or tables without visible spacing may need a quick tidy-up after conversion, such as merging two columns or moving a header row.

Tips
