How to convert PDF to JPG
Many websites, chat apps and online forms accept pictures but not PDF files. PDF to JPG turns each page of a PDF into a JPEG image that opens on any phone or computer, previews instantly in messages and can be uploaded wherever a photo is expected. You choose the resolution, the JPG quality and the pages, and everything runs in your browser, so the document never leaves your device.
How to convert PDF to JPG
- Add your PDF. Drop it on the page or click to choose the file.
- Pick the resolution. Screen (72 DPI) for previews, Standard (150 DPI) for most uses, 200 DPI or High (300 DPI) for print and fine detail.
- Set the JPG quality. 90% is the default. Lower values give smaller files, 100% keeps the most detail.
- Choose the pages. Keep All pages or type a range such as 1-3, 5, 8-.
- Convert and download. Press Convert to images, then save each JPG or all of them in one ZIP file.
Resolution and quality at a glance
| Setting | A4 page size in pixels | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 72 DPI | about 595 x 842 | Thumbnails, quick previews |
| 150 DPI | about 1240 x 1754 | Websites, chat, slides, reading on screen |
| 200 DPI | about 1654 x 2339 | Forms with small print, sharper zoom |
| 300 DPI | about 2480 x 3508 | Printing, OCR, archiving |
The quality slider controls JPEG compression. Between 80% and 90% the difference is hard to see while the file gets much smaller. Use 95% to 100% when text must stay perfectly crisp or when you plan to edit the image afterwards.
JPG or PNG for PDF pages?
JPG is the most widely accepted image format and gives small files for pages with photos, scans and colour backgrounds. For pages that are mostly text, tables or line drawings, a lossless PNG keeps edges cleaner, so try PDF to PNG for those. If you need WebP or want to switch formats freely, the general PDF to Images tool offers all three.
Multi page PDFs
Every selected page becomes its own JPG named after your file and page number, for example report-page-3.jpg, so the images stay in order. A 20 page PDF gives 20 images, and the ZIP download saves them all in one click. Progress is shown page by page while your browser works.
Tips
- Need images under a size limit for an exam or job portal? Use PDF to JPG under 50 KB.
- Want only the photos inside the PDF, not whole pages? Try Extract Images from PDF.
- A password protected PDF must be unlocked first with Remove PDF Password.
- For very long documents at 300 DPI, convert in smaller page ranges if the browser slows down.

Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a PDF to JPG?
Drop your PDF on this page, keep or change the resolution and quality, choose all pages or specific pages and press Convert to images. Each page becomes a JPG file that you can download on its own or together in a ZIP.
Is JPG the same as JPEG?
Yes. JPG and JPEG are two names for the same image format. The files you get end in .jpg and open anywhere a JPEG is accepted.
How do I get a high quality JPG from a PDF?
Choose High (300 DPI) and set the quality slider to 95% or 100%. A 300 DPI A4 page is about 2480 by 3508 pixels, sharp enough for printing and for zooming into small text.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The pages are drawn and saved as JPG by your own browser. The PDF stays on your device and nothing is stored or shared.
Can I convert only one page of a PDF to JPG?
Yes. Choose Specific pages and type the page number, for example 4, or a list such as 2, 6, 10-12. Only those pages are converted.
Why is my JPG file large, and how do I make it smaller?
Size grows with resolution and quality. Use 150 DPI and a quality of 75% to 85% for most uses. If a form needs images under a fixed limit, use PDF to JPG under 50 KB, which reduces each page automatically.
