AI PDF Summarizer: Summarize Any PDF in Seconds
Summarize a PDF with AI: a clear summary plus key points with page numbers. Pick short, medium or detailed, in the language you want. Free, no sign-up.
The text is read from your PDF in your browser. Only that text is sent to our AI server, and it is not stored.
How to summarize a PDF
A 30 page report, a research article, a court decision or a set of meeting minutes rarely needs to be read word for word before you know what matters. The AI PDF Summarizer reads the document for you and returns a clear summary followed by the key points, each with the page it comes from. Choose a short overview, a medium summary or a detailed one, and get it in the language of the document or in another language. It is free, there is no account to create and no watermark.
How to summarize a PDF
- Open the PDF. Drop it onto the page or click Choose PDF. Your browser reads the text and shows the page and word count.
- Pick the length. Short gives two or three sentences and three key points, Medium about five sentences and five points, Detailed two or three paragraphs and up to ten points.
- Choose the language. Keep Same as the document or select another language from the list.
- Summarize and save. Click Summarize PDF, then copy the result or download it as a .txt file.
Summaries that cover the whole document
Many summarizers only look at the first pages of a long file. Here, long documents are split into sections that each fit the AI model. Every section is condensed into notes that keep names, figures, dates and page numbers, and the notes are then merged into one summary. That way the conclusion on page 48 counts as much as the introduction on page 2, and every key point can be traced back to its page.
Lengths compared
| Length | Summary | Key points | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Short | 2 to 3 sentences | 3 | Deciding whether to read a file |
| Medium | 4 to 6 sentences | 5 | Briefings and emails |
| Detailed | 2 to 3 paragraphs | 8 to 10 | Study notes and reports |
Common uses
Students summarize chapters and papers before an exam, lawyers and buyers get the gist of contracts and tenders, managers skim board reports and meeting minutes, and researchers screen articles before deciding which ones to read in full.
Privacy
The PDF itself never leaves your device. The text is extracted in your browser and sent over an encrypted connection to our own AI server only to write the summary. It is not stored, not logged as content and not used for training. The model is instructed to treat everything in the document as content to summarize and to ignore any instructions hidden in it.

Frequently asked questions
How does the PDF Summarizer work?
Your browser extracts the text of the PDF. Short documents are summarized in one step. Longer ones are read in sections: the AI writes notes for each section with page numbers, then combines them into the final summary and key points.
Is my PDF stored?
No. The file stays on your device; only its text is sent over an encrypted connection to our AI server to write the summary, and it is discarded right after. No account is needed.
How long can the PDF be?
Up to 60 pages and about 200,000 characters are read. For longer documents, split the PDF and summarize each part.
Can I get the summary in another language?
Yes. Leave Language on Same as the document, or pick one of 36 languages, for example to get an English summary of a French report.
Is the summary accurate?
The AI is instructed to use only facts from your document and to keep names, numbers and dates exactly as written. It can still miss nuance, so key points carry page numbers that let you check the source quickly.
Why does it say my PDF has no text?
Scanned PDFs are images of pages. Run the file through PDF OCR first to add real text, then summarize the new file.
