How to convert HEIC photos to PDF

iPhones save photos as HEIC, a modern format that is great for storage but often rejected by upload forms, printers and Windows computers. HEIC to PDF turns one photo or a whole set of photos into a single PDF that opens everywhere: receipts for an expense claim, pages of a signed contract, ID photos for an application or a handwritten note for a teacher. You choose the page size, the orientation and the margins, and everything runs in your browser.

How to convert HEIC to PDF

  1. Add your photos. Drop HEIC or HEIF files on the page or click to choose them. You can also add JPG and PNG files.
  2. Set the order. Each photo becomes one page. Move photos up or down in the list if needed.
  3. Choose the page size. A4 and US Letter give standard document pages, Same as image makes each page fit its photo exactly.
  4. Pick orientation and margin. Automatic turns wide photos into landscape pages. Choose no margin, small or large.
  5. Convert and download. Press Convert to PDF and save the file.

How the conversion works

Safari on Mac, iPhone and iPad can read HEIC directly, so the photo is decoded with no extra download. Chrome, Edge and Firefox cannot, so the page loads an open source HEIC decoder (libheif, about 3 MB) the first time you convert, then runs it inside your browser. Each photo is turned into a high quality JPG at full resolution and placed on its page with the size, orientation and margin you chose. Your photos never leave your device.

Tips

  • Need a smaller PDF for an email or a portal? Turn on Reduce file size, or run the result through Compress PDF.
  • Photographing paper documents? Scan to PDF straightens and cleans pages taken with a camera.
  • Already have JPG photos? JPG to PDF works the same way, and Images to PDF takes PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP too.
  • Want to add more pages later? Combine PDFs with Merge PDF.
  • On iPhone, set Camera to Most Compatible in Settings if you would rather capture JPG from the start.

Common uses

People use HEIC to PDF to send receipts to an accountant, attach photographed homework to a school portal, combine pictures of an ID card front and back into one file, or share a set of whiteboard photos after a meeting.

Private and free

No upload, no account and no watermark. The converter works offline once the page and decoder have loaded, so personal photos and documents stay on your phone or computer.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a HEIC file to PDF?

Drop one or more HEIC photos on this page, choose the page size, orientation and margin, and press Convert to PDF. All photos are placed in one PDF, one per page, which you can download right away.

What is a HEIC file?

HEIC is the photo format iPhones and iPads use by default. It stores photos in about half the space of JPG, but many websites, printers and Windows apps cannot open it, which is why converting to PDF or JPG is often needed.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The photos are decoded and placed into the PDF by your browser. Safari can read HEIC on its own; other browsers download a small open source decoder once, and it runs on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers.

Can I combine several HEIC photos into one PDF?

Yes. Add as many photos as you like. Each one becomes a page, in the order shown in the list. Use the arrows to move a photo up or down before converting.

Will the photo quality drop?

Each photo is converted to a high quality JPG (92%) at its full resolution before it is placed in the PDF. If you want a smaller file, open Advanced options and turn on Reduce file size.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes. Open this page in Safari, tap to choose files and pick photos from your library or the Files app. The PDF is saved to Files or Downloads.
