How to extract pages from a PDF

Need just the signed page of a contract, the two chapters of a report your colleague asked for, or the invoice buried on page 37 of a statement? Extract PDF Pages lets you pick exactly the pages you need and saves them as a new PDF. Click thumbnails or type page ranges, choose whether you want one file or one file per page, and download. The original stays untouched, and the work happens in your browser, so your document is never uploaded.

How to extract pages from a PDF

  1. Open the PDF. Drop the file onto the page or click Choose file. Thumbnails of every page appear.
  2. Pick the pages. Click the pages you want, use the All, Odd or Even buttons, or type ranges such as 1-3, 7, 10-.
  3. Choose the output. Keep One PDF for a single document, or pick One PDF per page to get separate files in a ZIP.
  4. Extract and download. Press Extract pages, rename the file if you like and download it.

Writing page ranges

Commas separate pages and a dash makes a range: 2, 5, 9 picks three single pages, 4-8 picks pages 4 to 8, and 12- means page 12 to the end. You can mix them, as in 1, 3-5, 20-. The thumbnails update as you type, so you can see straight away whether the selection is right, and clicking a thumbnail rewrites the ranges for you. Pages are always saved in their original order.

When to extract pages

Send only the relevant part of a long document instead of the whole file, attach the one page an application form asks for, pull the slides you need out of an exported presentation, or keep the receipts from a monthly statement. Smaller files are also easier to email and to upload to portals with a size limit.

Your file stays on your device

Your PDF is opened and rebuilt by your own browser with pdf.js and pdf-lib. Nothing is sent to our servers and nothing is stored, which makes the tool safe for contracts, payslips, medical letters and other private documents. Password protected files need their password removed first.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the pages to extract?

Click the thumbnails of the pages you want, or type them in the box: commas separate pages and a dash makes a range, so 1-3, 7, 10- means pages 1 to 3, page 7 and page 10 to the end. Both stay in sync.

Can I get each page as its own PDF?

Yes. Choose One PDF per page under Output. Every selected page becomes a separate file and they download together as a ZIP.

Does the original PDF change?

No. The tool reads your file and builds a new PDF from copies of the chosen pages. The original stays exactly as it was on your device.

Will the extracted pages lose quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are, without re-compression, so text stays sharp and selectable, links still work and images keep their resolution.

What is the difference from Split PDF?

Extract is for picking a few pages you need. Split PDF cuts a whole document into parts, for example every page or every 5 pages. Use whichever matches the job.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser with pdf.js and pdf-lib. Your PDF is never sent to a server.
