Deleting PDF Pages
Need to remove pages from a PDF? This shows you thumbnails of every page so you can see what you're deleting. Click individual pages, select ranges, or use patterns. Quick buttons for selecting all odd pages, all even pages, or inverting your selection. You can delete selected pages or keep only the pages you select and delete everything else.
Good for removing blank pages, cover pages, duplicate scans, or extracting specific sections.
Upload
- Click upload. Pick your PDF.
- Tool generates thumbnails of every page.
- Shows total page count.
Selection Modes
- Three ways to select:
- Individual: Click page thumbnails one by one. Selected pages get a red highlight and trash icon. Click again to deselect.
- Range: Type start and end page numbers. Like "From 1 To 3" to select the first 3 pages. Click "Select Range".
- Pattern: Use syntax like "1,3,5-10,15". Commas for individual pages, dashes for ranges. Good for complex selections.
- Switch modes anytime with the toolbar buttons.
Quick Actions
- Select All: Marks every page. Then deselect the ones you want to keep.
- Select None: Clears everything. Start over.
- Invert: Flips your selection. Selected become unselected, unselected become selected.
- Select Odd: Automatically selects pages 1, 3, 5, 7, etc. Good for duplex scans.
- Select Even: Pages 2, 4, 6, 8, etc.
Preview
- Check your selections before deleting:
- Grid view: Thumbnails of all pages. Red borders on selected ones.
- List view: Page numbers and sizes in a list. Easier for long documents.
- Click eye icon on any page to see it full size.
- Toolbar shows real-time counts - total pages, pages being deleted (red), pages remaining (green).
Delete or Keep
- Two options:
- Delete Selected: Removes marked pages, keeps everything else. This is the normal way.
- Keep Selected: Keeps only marked pages, deletes everything else. Good for extracting a few specific pages.
- Both ask for confirmation before doing anything.
- Can't delete all pages - at least one has to stay.
Download
- After confirming, it processes and downloads.
- "Delete Selected" saves as "filename-deleted-pages.pdf".
- "Keep Selected" saves as "filename-kept-pages.pdf".
- Tool reloads the new PDF automatically so you can make more changes if needed.
Tips:
- Cover pages: Range mode, pages 1-2 or 1-3, then delete.
- Extract chapters: Select pages you want, use "Keep Selected".
- Blank pages: Look at grid view, click blanks individually.
- Duplex scans: "Select Odd" or "Select Even" if you only need one side.
- Complex patterns: Use pattern mode like "1,10-15,25,30-35".
- Keep a few pages: Select All, then click to deselect what you want to keep. Or just select what you want and use "Keep Selected".
Common Uses:
- Removing unnecessary cover pages or blank pages.
- Extracting specific chapters from textbooks.
- Cleaning up presentations by removing draft slides.
- Splitting large PDFs into smaller sections.
- Fixing scanned documents with accidental blanks.
- Removing confidential pages before sharing.
Other Stuff:
- Visual feedback: Selected pages are red with trash icons. Can't miss them.
- In-browser: File stays on your computer. No uploads.
- Confirmation: Both actions ask first so you don't accidentally delete wrong pages.
- Grid or list views: Switch between them depending on what works better.
- Good thumbnails: High quality so you can see what's on each page.
- Keep editing: After deletion, tool reloads so you can delete more if needed.
