Combine PNG images and screenshots into one PDF

PNG to PDF, right in your browser

PNG is the format of screenshots, diagrams, logos, exported charts and scanned pages saved by many apps. It looks great on screen, but a folder full of PNG files is awkward to send, print or attach to a form. This PNG to PDF converter puts your images into one tidy PDF, one PNG per page, in the order you choose.

Because the PNG data is kept as it is, text in screenshots stays readable and colors stay true. You can convert a single image or a whole batch, and every image gets its own page.

The conversion happens on your own device. Your PNG files are read by the browser, placed into a new PDF and handed back to you as a download. They are never sent to a server.

How to convert PNG to PDF

  1. Drop your PNG files on the page, or click to choose them. Hold Ctrl or Cmd to select several at once.
  2. Put them in order with the up and down arrows next to each file. The first file becomes page 1.
  3. Pick a page size: A4, US Letter, or Fit, which makes every page the size of its image.
  4. For A4 and Letter, choose an orientation: automatic, portrait or landscape.
  5. Choose a margin: none, small or large.
  6. Press Convert to PDF and download your file.

Page settings that suit PNG files

  • Fit: each page takes the exact proportions of its PNG, so a tall phone screenshot gets a tall page and a wide dashboard capture gets a wide one. Nothing is stretched or enlarged.
  • A4 or US Letter: every page has the same paper size, which is what you want for printing or for upload forms that expect standard pages. Each image is centered and scaled to fill the space inside the margins.
  • Automatic orientation: wide images go on landscape pages and tall images on portrait pages, so a mix of screenshots still looks right.
  • Margins: no margin gives an edge to edge look, a small margin leaves a clean frame, and a large margin leaves room for notes when printed.
  • Reduce file size: found under Advanced. It resizes big images so the longest side is at most 2000 pixels and saves them as JPEG inside the PDF.

Transparent PNGs

PNG images can have transparent areas, for example a logo or an icon without a background. With the default settings the PNG is placed into the PDF as it is, and the empty page shows through the transparent parts, which PDF viewers usually display as white. If you turn on Reduce file size, the image is flattened onto a white background first, because JPEG has no transparency.

PNG vs JPG: why a separate PNG tool

PNG and JPG are both common, but they are made for different things, and that shows in the PDF.

  • PNG is lossless. Small text in a screenshot, thin lines in a diagram and flat colors in a chart stay crisp. By default this tool keeps your PNG data as it is, so the PDF page looks exactly like the original image.
  • JPG is made for photos. It gives smaller files for camera pictures but can blur sharp edges and text. For photos, use JPG to PDF.
  • Mixed folders: if you have PNG, JPG, WebP and other images together, Images to PDF accepts them all in one go. This page accepts PNG files only.

When to turn PNG images into a PDF

  • Screenshot to PDF: collect the steps of a bug report, a tutorial or a chat history into one document.
  • Receipts and confirmations: save screenshots of orders, bookings and payments as a single PDF for your records.
  • Diagrams and charts: share exported graphs or whiteboard captures with readable labels.
  • Design work: send logos, mockups or icons as a PDF a client can open anywhere.
  • Scanned pages saved as PNG: merge them into one multi page document.
  • Applications and forms: many portals ask for one PDF instead of several image files.
  • Study notes: turn screenshots of slides or lecture pages into one PDF you can read, search through by page and print.

Tips for a clean result

  • Rename your files with numbers first (01, 02, 03) so they arrive in the right order and need fewer clicks.
  • Use Fit for screenshots you will read on screen, and A4 or Letter for anything that will be printed.
  • Keep automatic orientation when you mix phone and desktop screenshots.
  • Large PNG exports can make a heavy PDF. Turn on Reduce file size if you need to email it, or run the finished file through Compress PDF.
  • Already have some pages as PDF? Convert the PNGs first, then join everything with Merge PDF.
  • Need the opposite? PDF to PNG saves PDF pages as PNG images.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert PNG to PDF?

Drop your PNG files on this page, arrange them with the up and down arrows, choose the page size, orientation and margins, then press Convert to PDF and download the file.

Can I combine multiple PNG files into one PDF?

Yes. Add as many PNG images as you need. They all go into a single PDF, one image per page, in the order you set.

Will my PNG lose quality?

No, not with the default settings. The PNG is placed in the PDF as it is. Only the optional Reduce file size setting resizes large images and saves them as JPEG.

What happens to transparent backgrounds?

With the default settings the transparent areas stay transparent and show the page behind them, which viewers usually display as white. Reduce file size flattens images onto white first.

Can I turn screenshots into a PDF?

Yes. Screenshots are usually PNG files, so this is an easy screenshot to PDF tool. Choose Fit to give each page the exact shape of its screenshot.

Can I add JPG or WebP images too?

This page accepts PNG files only. To mix PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF and BMP in one PDF, use Images to PDF.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The PDF is created in your browser, so your PNG files never leave your device.

Is the PNG to PDF converter free?

Yes. It is free with no sign up, no watermark and no daily limit.
