Crop PDF Pages Online
Draw the area you want to keep or trim white margins automatically, on every page or only the ones you choose. Free, private and done in your browser.
How to crop a PDF
Scanned books with wide margins, slides with a thick border, a report you want to read comfortably on a phone, or a single chart you need from a page: WoowPDF's Crop PDF tool cuts every page down to the part you actually need. Draw a crop box on a live preview, type exact margins, or let the tool find and trim the white space around your content automatically. It runs in your browser, so your document is never uploaded, and it is free with no watermark.
How to crop a PDF in four steps
- Open your PDF. Drop the file on the page or click Choose file. The first page appears in a large preview.
- Choose the area. Drag on the page to draw the area you want to keep, pull the corner and edge handles to adjust it, or drag inside the box to move it. Everything outside is dimmed so you can see the result before saving.
- Pick the pages. Crop all pages, or choose Specific pages and enter a range such as 1-4, 7.
- Crop and download. Click Crop PDF, rename the file if you like, and download it.
Manual crop with precise margins
The visual crop box is quick, but sometimes you need exact numbers. In manual mode the options panel shows the top, bottom, left and right margins that will be removed, in millimetres, measured on the page you are viewing. Type a value and the box moves instantly. Use the arrows to browse through the document and check that the area fits every page, and use the arrow keys on a selected box for fine adjustments (hold Shift for larger steps). The Whole page button resets the box.
Automatic white margin trimming
Choose Trim white margins and WoowPDF renders each page, finds where the printed content starts and ends, and crops away the empty border. Each page is measured on its own, so pages with different layouts are all trimmed tightly. Use Space to keep around content to leave a comfortable margin so text does not touch the edge. Blank pages are left as they are. This mode is ideal for PDFs you want to read on an e-reader or phone, where every millimetre of screen counts.
Works with any page size and orientation
The crop area is stored as a proportion of the page, so a document that mixes A4 and Letter pages, or portrait and landscape pages, is cropped consistently. Rotated pages are cropped exactly as you see them in the preview. The content itself is not changed or re-rendered: text stays sharp and searchable, and images keep their full quality.
What cropping does and does not do
Cropping sets a new visible area for each page. Everything outside that area is hidden in every PDF viewer and is not printed, but it is still stored inside the file, and some editors can restore it. That makes cropping perfect for layout and readability, but not for hiding confidential details. To remove names, account numbers or other sensitive data for good, use WoowPDF's Redact PDF tool, which actually deletes the content.
Tips for the best result
- Scroll through a few pages before cropping in manual mode, so headers, footers or page numbers you want to keep are not cut off.
- For scans with dark edges, draw the crop area manually: automatic trimming treats black borders as content.
- After cropping, compress the PDF to reduce its size, or rotate pages that are sideways.
- Need a printable handout? Combine the cropped pages with multiple pages per sheet.
- Remove unwanted pages first with Delete PDF pages, or pull out the pages you need with Split PDF.

Frequently asked questions
How do I crop a PDF?
Open your PDF, drag on the preview to draw the area you want to keep (or pull the handles of the crop box), choose all pages or a page range, and click Crop PDF. Download the result when it is ready.
Can WoowPDF remove white margins automatically?
Yes. Choose Trim white margins and the tool finds the printed content on each page and crops away the empty border around it. You decide how much space to keep around the content.
Can I enter exact margins?
Yes. In manual mode, type the top, bottom, left and right margins to remove in millimetres. The crop box on the preview updates as you type.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Cropping happens entirely in your browser. Your PDF is never sent to our servers, so it is safe for private documents.
Does cropping delete the content outside the crop area?
No. Cropping changes the visible page area, so the outside part disappears in every PDF viewer and when printing, but it still exists inside the file. To remove sensitive information permanently, use the Redact PDF tool instead.
Can I crop only some pages?
Yes. Choose Specific pages and enter a range such as 2-5, 9. Pages outside the range keep their original size.
What happens with pages of different sizes?
The crop area is stored as a proportion of the page, so the same relative area is applied to every selected page. In automatic mode each page is measured individually.
Does cropping reduce quality?
No. Nothing is re-rendered: text, images and vector graphics stay exactly as they were, and text remains selectable and searchable.
Will cropping make my PDF smaller?
Usually not by much, because the content outside the crop area is kept in the file. To reduce the file size, run the cropped PDF through Compress PDF.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. Both modes work with scans. Automatic trimming ignores faint background noise, but dark scanner edges count as content, so draw the area manually if a scan has black borders.
